M.S. Rau, the New Orleans antiques and estate jewellery dealer, is putting a 12.27ct pink diamond called the Majestic Pink up for sale in August.
The diamond can be viewed by the public on 1stdibs website when the diamond goes on sale on August 8.
It can also be viewed in person August 23 to26 at the Baltimore Summer Antiques Show. The stone’s price is set at $7.85 million (£505,200,000).
The diamond has a grading report from the Gemological Institute of America.
The Majestic Pink is graded as a Type IIa diamond, one of only a handful of that type of pink diamond known to exist in the world, and is set in 18ct rose gold and platinum.
A Type IIa designation means that the diamond lacks any trace of nitrogen, which can give a diamond a yellow tint, giving the stone greater optical transparency.
