Alex and Ani revenue jumps 5,200% in three years

Bangle brand moves up the charts in Inc. 500 fast-growing firms list.

Charm bangle brand Alex and Ani has risen to 53rd place in Inc. Magazine‘s list of the fastest-growing private companies in the US, the Inc. 5000, revealing 5,200% revenue growth over the past three years.

The stackable jewellery brand moved to number 53 in this year’s Inc. 5000 list, from 94th place in the 2013. In the retail category, Alex and Ani was ranked as the third fastest-growing company among its peers nationwide.

The business’ annual revenue hit $230 million (£14.2m) last year. This is the fourth time the company has appeared in the Inc. 5000 list, since it first appeared in 2011.

Alex and Ani founder, creative director, and chief executive officer Carolyn Rafaelian said: "The tremendous success and growth of Alex and Ani stems from our intention to empower customers with meaningful products that speak to their individuality.

"As we expand into new products, including our leather goods collection that is made entirely in America, we are staying true to our goal of creating positive experiences for our customers that inspire mindful actions.”

TRENDS IN PICS: STACKABLE BANGLES

In May, Alex and Ani was awarded the US Department of Commerce’s E Award for exports from the United States, in recognition of the company’s international growth and contributions to the increase of US exports.

At present, Alex and Ani has 1,024 employees and operates 40 stores across the United States. It is sold through a number of UK retailers, including Argento, Fabulous, Emson Haig and Arnotts.
