Alex Monroe auctions bicycle chain for charity

Jeweller also cycling length of the UK for Fight for Sight.

Alex Monroe has designed an 18ct gold bicycle necklace to raise money for charity Fight for Sight.

The necklaces are being auctioned off online at a specially set-up website between May 1 and July 19. The necklaces, which have a recommended retail price of £1,200, have been crafted from 18ct gold with a diamond headlight and ruby rear light, strung on an 18-inch chain.

The bicycle necklace ties in with a 1,000-mile cycle ride that Monroe is taking part in to raise funds for Fight for Sight. Monroe will cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats with two friends, scientist John Greenwood and actor Lloyd Hutchinson.

Jeweller Monroe has long been a champion of Fight for Sight having suffered from inflammatory eye disease Uvetis.
