Fine jeweller to work across ranges following 2013 collaboration.
Contemporary British pearl jewellery company Winterson has appointed fine jewellery designer Alice Cicolini as its new creative director.
The designer, who has recently been part of the Rock Vault collective at London Fashion Week, first worked with Winterson on a collaborative collection titled Beau, launched in 2013.
She has now joined the business in the official capacity of creative director and will be responsible for the creative conception and product development of the brand’s classic, bridal and fine jewellery collections.
Cicolini will also establish and manage new and exclusive collaborations with other up-and-coming British designers.
Coinciding with the announcement, the brand has launched a new collection designed by Cicolini – Lief – an interchangeable range inspired by flowers and set with pearls and coloured gemstones.
Winterson managing director Andrew Fraser said of the appointment: “Alice brings a distinctive style and influence to our jewellery that has already inspired our customers. We are delighted to welcome her fully to our team".
Cicolini, who used pearls in her recent own-label collection as well as enamels inspired by the art of meenakari, said she was very happy to join the Winterson team.
She said of the brand: "[It maintains] an excellent reputation for sourcing only the very best quality pearls. I am thrilled to be joining a business that shares my own brand values of design, quality and trust.”
Cicolini studied at Central Saint Martins before launching her own-label fine jewellery brand, which has been sold through Matches, Fortnum & Mason, Bungalow 8 in Mumbai and Luisa Via Roma in Italy.
She was named a NexGem in the Professional Jeweller Hot 100 2013.
