Supermodel delighted with unique jewellery from fast-growing designer.
Hertfordshire-based retailer and designer, Alyssa Smith, has been given the thumbs up from Kate Moss for whom she has created a vintage inspired necklace.
Smith worked with Moss’s personal assistant to create a piece designed to appeal to the trendsetting supermodel “I came up with a gorgeous vintage inspired key necklace in oxidised silver, gold and black onyx which I sent to Kate last week,” revealed Smith.
Kate Moss was said to be delighted with the jewellery, and joins a growing list of celebrity fans of Alyssa Smith that includes Sienna Miller and presenter of The Gadget Show, Suzi Perry.
Alyssa Smith Jewellery is also celebrating a range of new stockists. Among the new outlets are In House Gallery, which recently took Smith’s collections to the International Horse Trials at Blenheim Palace, and is now showcasing her collections in France.
The Biscuit Factory in Newcastle Upon Tyne, will hold a special ‘Wonderland’ themed showcase with Alyssa Smith this month for its annual Gateshead Arts celebration festival. Rose & Dylan’s new shop in St. Albans will also carry the designer’s pieces.
Speaking to Professional Jeweller Smith explained that she hasn’t been working on any new collections over the past few months but is now sketching out ideas ready to launch her next line in time for Spring Fair at the NEC, Birmingham in February.
Smith commented: “The collection will be very Egyptian inspired; full of rich golds and citrines and large statement pieces. Spring Fair will be my first big trade fair since I exhibited at New Designers in 2008 when I graduated from university.”
