Scottish jewellery studio Vanilla Ink has opened up for round three of its incubator programme, which aims to develop new talent by providing hands-on guidance and support for six months.
Following on from its successful first year in Glasgow, applications are now open for the 2016 programme. Founder of Vanilla Ink, and previous Professional Hot 100 Trailblazer Kate Pickering comments: “We think there is a difference between making and running a successful business. The difference between having a dream and making it real is understanding the market and your place in it. There is a need for a supportive transition from education to independent success as a maker.”
Founded in Dundee in 2009, with a relocation to Glasgow in 2015, Vanilla Ink has served as a starting block for many of Scotland’s talented jewellery graduates.
As well as practical jewellery making skills, the programme will be offering tailored professional development workshops, bespoke mentoring, access to a fully equipped studio to jewellers who are looking to set up on their own.
Applicants must have been set up for no longer than three years, and be able to commit to the six month programme. For full information and to apply, visit www.vanillainkstudios.co.uk/programme
