Argent of London’s H1 sales up 5.6%

Brand enjoys increase in online sales of 44% compared to last year.

Independent jewellery brand Argent of London has enjoyed strong like for like sales growth of almost 6% for the first half of 2011.

Argent of London offers “affordable distinctive and timeless designs” in silver and gold vermeil. In particular it sales this year have shown strength online – at a time when online retail is trumping that of the high street – with Argent’s internet sales up 44% on the same period last year. 

Gail Goodrich, managing director and head of design, said she was particularly pleased as this followed very good Christmas sales in 2010.

Argent has also welcomed an increasing number of independent third party retailers looking to stock its jewellery collections. Following this interest, Argent of London is now looking to develop its wholesale side.

The company was founded in 1996 by Gail Goodrich, who wanted to create jewellery collections that women could afford to buy for themselves. Collections include simple pearl bracelets, stacking rings, and use of colourful gemstones and enamel, with retail prices from around £12.
