Retailer looking to expand through department store shop-in-shops

Retailer Argenteus is looking at expanding its business through up to half a dozen concessions.

Argenteus has recently closed two of its under-performing stores but is looking at concessions as an alternative method of expansion. Argenteus director Ian Middleton said that sales at the business are up on last year in the low single digits.

Argenteus is yet to secure any concessions but is actively looking for partnerships with department stores.

Middleton said: “We’ve been waiting for the opportunity to re-expand again and a good way to grow would be to open half a dozen concessions. We’re approaching a couple of department stores.”

Argenteus is now focusing solely on stocking British designers alongside its own jewellery lines.
