Customers to receive text messages when items are ready to collect.
The Goldsmiths’ Company Assay Office in London says it is continuing to “harness information technology” with the launch of a new text messaging service that let customers know when their goods are ready for collection, after being hallmarked.
The Goldsmiths’ Company said the service is part of its “continuing drive to improve customer service”. Its Packet Ready SMS text alert service is a free service that will be available to all of its hallmarking customers.
Customers will receive a text message to alert them when their packet is ready for collection or if it has been sent out in the post. Anyone interested in the scheme is encouraged to email the Assay Office London, submitting their mobile phone number and details.
The Assay Office also announced its packet tracking service where customers can trace your packet online either from their computer or using a mobile phone.
