Tiffany Baehler scoops six months paid internship in Geneva.
High jeweller Avakian has announced Tiffany Baehler as the winner of its first Central Saint Martins scholarship.
The Genevan company revealed Baehler as its winner at a recent awards ceremony. It had announced the scheme in May this year, describing it a new philanthropic direction for the brand.
Baehler was chosen from a shortlist of five second year Central Saint Martins BA jewellery course students who were each invited to present their portfolios at an interview panel including Avakian director Corinne Avakian and the BA course leader Caroline Broadhead.
Avakian will fund the cost of studies Baehler’s studies annually for each of the next three academic years. She has also scooped a six-month paid internship at Avakian’s headquarters in Geneva.
Corinne Avakian said: “Tiffany demonstrated great imagination and originality in the development of her designs. The diversity and range of her creativity really shone through and I am delighted to be in a position to offer this scholarship.”
Avakian also awarded first year Central Saint Martins student Dennis Song for a piece created to the brief of an "Oscars-style hair ornament".
