London based jewellery brand Azuni London has just launched a trade only website in response to demand from its 300 UK and overseas clients.
The site is Magento based, a widely used ecommerce platform, and follows the layout of Azuni’s existing consumer website.
Sales director Andrew Robinson comments: “For a small company we have a very broad geographical spread of customers across the UK and Europe, and from China to Russia, and one of the greatest frustrations is the need to communicate with customers new product launches, and facilitate repeat orders in-season.
“We found the printed catalogue method too limiting and very 20th century, but the trial we have just completed confirmed our belief that retailers are resorting to internet searches to supplement their traditional product search methods of trade shows to source product, and are happy to place repeat orders with existing suppliers via a trade portal. Whilst there will always be a place for face to face meetings, making one’s product line and brand values visible are essential requirements to facilitate any B2B sale.”
The site allows ordering of the entire Azuni range, which covers 14 collections across three different mediums, and sits at Azuni.com rather than Azuni.co.uk, the address used for the brand’s consumer site.
“Having the .com address has certainly helped international trade, it’s meant it has been easier ranking the site internationally, and has already bought us two US customers,” adds Robinson.
For an insight into Azuni’s product offer register at Azuni.com – all trade accounts are vetted before approval, another important process to keep the site purely for trade.
