With no formal education, Price-Thomas has become one to watch.
Each month Professional Jeweller features an emerging designer in its Bench Fresh section of the magazine, previewing the best new talent in the UK. Read on to discover this month’s designer and recent winner of EC One’s Unsigned competition, Clarice Price-Thomas.
Clarice Price-Thomas is the daughter of a watch and clock restorer and, having grown up surrounded by gear cutters, cogs and springs her current collection is inspired by all things horological.
Working with silver, gold plate and semi-precious gemstones her work pays homage to antiques while being precise in its design – she even uses watchmaking tools to create her pieces.
She is entirely self-trained and has previously interned with the likes of Jessica de Lotz and Ana de Costa. Last month she was named the winner of EC One’s Unsigned competition 2011, scooping a year’s business mentorship with the retailer.
