Birmingham City graduate takes inspiration from the Victorians.
After graduating in 2008 Heidi Hinder has returned to her old university as an artist in residence.
Bringing in conceptual elements to her jewellery work, Hinder has taken inspiration for this necklace from the daguerreotype, the first publicly announced photography process.
The necklace was commissioned by the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham for an exhibition. It uses fine silver, non-reflective glass, patinated gilding metal, brass and a Victorian book cover for the reverse.
