Jewellery inspired by prop-making and concrete architecture.
London-born Maclaren studied a four-year jewellery BA at Middlesex University where she focused primarily on paper and fabric designs, something that led to work experience with Fred Butler and Petra Storrs.
Her work takes influences from her prop-making experience as well as large-scale body adornment and concrete architecture such as the Barbican and National Theatre.
These structures have also influenced her move into metalwork and have inspired her current jewellery designs such as the Lasdun necklace, pictured, from her Béton Brut collection.
