Porcelain jewellery inspired by folds of fabric and silks.
This month’s Bench Fresh is dedicated to Pergamene Jewellery is the brainchild of designer Elizabeth Klanga, who gained a first in BA Fine Art from Middlesex University
She translates draping fabric and its transparency through her jewellery, creating billowing, folded forms in shimmering porcelain with silver findings. The word pergamene translates as ‘translucent folds’ from the Helenic Era. Each piece is unique and hand-crafted.
Klanga is inspired by Renaissance and performance art, and costume design. She has previously created a series of performances and silk costumes exploring the angels movement in wind.
