An experimental designer turning darker themes into wearable jewels.
With a penchant for design themes with a darker edge, 2013 graduate Sophie Alice Hirsch offers up an array of jewellery that transforms the macabre and distasteful into elegant designs that pack a contemporary punch.
She experiments with materials including silver, seed pearls, feathers and leather to create collections with plenty of stories to tell.
Her I Can’t See the Shafts of Light bangle, pictured, is one example of her statement style of jewellery, and her ability to create a wearable talking point.
