Rex Johnson & Sons supports leading soprano for Puccini opera.

Birmingham jeweller Rex Johnson & Sons is adding patronage of a local opera production to its long-standing philanthropy within the horse racing community.

The company is supporting the production of Puccini’s Turandot opera at Birmingham’s Crescent Theatre next month by funding the appearance Finnish soprano Serafiina Sainio.

It will be the first time that a singer from Finland has performed the role since the great Anita Välkki at the Royal Opera House in London 50 years ago; an occasion sufficiently noteworthy to attract Finland’s UK ambassador to the show.
