French jewellery brand mimics design of Place Vendome hotel.
Boucheron has refurbished its Harrods boutique space with a design that pays homage to the brand’s Parisian Hôtel Particulier location on the Place Vendôme.
The new space is described as "an ode to light", with a colour scheme of white, gold and champagne. The Harrods space also boasts furnishings of marble and of backlit alabaster, with a crystal-clear styling said to echo the rock crystal work of classic Boucheron designs.
A statement said: "The maison Boucheron is pleased to announce the opening of its recently refurbished Harrods boutique in the Fine Jewellery Room on the ground floor of the world famous department store.
"Inspired by, and designed to reflect, the original Paris Hôtel Particulier in Place Vendôme, the refurbished boutique is an ode to light. The maison uses the art of light as well as stones such as diamond and rock crystal, while the use of light is present throughout its archives. Boucheron is seen as the jeweller of light in Paris, the city of light. The Harrods boutique was designed to reflect Boucheron’s contemporary Hôtel Particulier."
The boutique will also feature mirrors arranged to resemble the Hall of Mirrors at the Chateau of Versailles, while a specially-designed VIP room is hidden behind a glass wall that has been built to accommodate those looking for complete privacy while shopping.
The VIP space is decorated with an image of the brand’s Hôtel de la Lumiere jewellery collection hung above the marble fireplace, creating a light-filled, warm space.
In the middle of the boutique the brand has added a long marble table for added impact, displaying its jewellery collections. Old books about Boucheron are arranged throughout the boutique, inviting customers to immerse themselves in its history.
