Retailer times launch to coincide with Christmas party season.

Brighton retailer Union Jewellery has launched a jewellery hire initiative timed to coincide with the Christmas party season, following feedback from its customers.

Union, which claims to be the town’s only luxury statement jewellery retailer, has launched a themed window installation to fit with the hire service.

Its owner Alexander Parnell said: “This new initiative feels like a natural progression for us. We regularly get feedback from customers who love what we bring to Brighton – [and thought] why not enable more people to enjoy wearing some of our amazing pieces at a fraction of the cost?”

The initiative is being targeted at consumers who might not be able to afford a statement item of jewellery but want to complete a look.

Items are hired at a charge of 10% of their retail price for every 24 hour period, with a hire fee of £25, which will be waived should the customer decide they want to purchase the piece at a later date.

Union Jewellery was founded in August 2011 by Alexander Parnell and Arjo Ghosh, stocking designer jewellery including Alice Menter, Lara Bohinc and Fiona Paxton.
