Company to carry on under son after death of Peter Mooney.

Mooney had run the UK arm of global business Continental, which is based in Birmingham, for the past 22 years but passed away at the end of last year due to illness.

Mooney’s son, Peter J. Mooney, has now taken over the running of the company. He will take over all of his father’s responsibilities and will be the main contact for the business.

Peter J. Mooney, who is a graduate gemmologist, has worked at Continental Jewellery for more than a decade.

Continental Jewellery director Victor Chan said: "2012 ended on a sad note for the Continental family. [Peter Mooney] will be forever missed and remembered; our blessings and prayers are with him and may he rest in peace.

"Despite this unfortunate event, we wanted to reassure that nothing will change and business will continue to run smoothly as before. We are confident that Peter [J. Mooney] will lead the team to new heights and he will continue to offer great products and services to you."

Continental Jewellery recently exhibited at The Jewellery Show in Birmingham with its diamond jewellery brand Kissing Diamonds.
