Gold Buying Centre in Ely suspected of dealing in stolen goods.

A man has been arrested as the Gold Buying Centre in Ely, Cambridgeshire, was shut down on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

The gold merchants, which is on Market Street in the town, was shut down by police and a large quantity of jewellery plus £475 in cash was seized.

A 46-year-old man from the Downham Market area of Ely was arrested.

Police were alerted to the activities at Gold Buying Centre after an 81-year-old woman who had been burgled believed that her stolen jewellery had found its way to the shop.
