Simulated diamond and gemstone brand moves into fashion timepieces.
Carat* founder and chief executive Scott Thompson has revealed to Professional Jeweller that the brand will launch a collection of watches in time for Christmas.
In a conversation focused on the brand’s Christmas marketing activities, Thompson said: “This is going to be our biggest Christmas ever. With 24 boutiques and more than 30 wholesale customers we have our work cut out [and] are currently working on a soft launch of our first watch collection in Hong Kong.”
The simulated diamond and gemstone brand will debut the watches in Hong Kong, where Thompson is a resident, in early December. Samples will be available in the UK from mid-November.
Carat* press manager Sonja Mirabaud said: “The official launch is early December and the watches will be available in all our own boutiques worldwide for now and we will then push them out to our wholesalers early next year.”
The range is estimated to retail from £140 to £450. Its jewellery collections are presently stocked in Harrods, Selfridges, its own standalone stores and a number of independent jewellery retailers including Steffans, Hooper Bolton and Preston & Duckworth.
