Casio is planning to open two standalone stores in London to replace its Carnaby Street boutique which closed in February after 12 years.

A spokesperson for the brand said that it will open a store in the city’s trendy Shoreditch area as well as finding a unit in the West End. No deals have been finalised as yet.

Casio also said that it is potentially looking to open more pop-up shops and is seeking out four- to 10-month leases. The spokesperson said that pop-up shops fit in well with the seasonality of its fashion ranges.

Casio currently has a Baby-G pop-up shop in Selfridges London showcasing an exclusive range of watches created in collaboration with up-and-coming designers.

The Casio boutique on Carnaby Street enjoyed an unusually long tenure for the central London shopping area. The famous shopping street is run by landlord Shaftesbury which encourages a turnover of stores to ensure a fresh shopping experience.
