Caroline Scheufele honoured for social and ethical practices.
Chopard creative director and co-president Caroline Scheufele was presented with the Fashion 4 Development Award at a glittering ceremony on September 23, highlighting her efforts to introduce environmental, social and ethical programs at the luxury brand.
Scheufele picked up the honour at Fashion 4 Development’s 4th Annual First Ladies Luncheon, which took place at the A Taj Hotel, New York, on September 23.
In particular, Scheufele was praised for launching Chopard’s project, The Journey to Sustainable Luxury – and ethical multi-year program that aims to include environmental, social and ethical practices in Chopard’s jewellery and watch making processes.
The Colombian First Lady, María Clemencia Rodríguez Múnera, presented the award in recognition of the fact that Colombia is the home country of Chopard’s partner the Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM).
Chopard is currently supporting the La Llanada mine in the Nariño region of the country, and is helping them to reach Fairmined certification.
