Lisa McHugo, graphic designer at Irish jewellery brand Chupi, has been recognised for her creative talent and achievements in her career to date by winning a prestigious U Magazine 30 Under 30 Award.
Now in its second year, the U Magazine 30 Under 30 Awards honours Ireland’s brightest young female talent, celebrating 30 remarkable women in fields as diverse as science, politics, fashion and TV. Up against stiff competition in the Art category, the esteemed panel of judges voted for McHugo to win because of her unique creativity and artistic flair.
The glittering ceremony took place at exclusive supper club Number Twenty Two in Dublin on July 25.
McHugo comments: “Working at Chupi has given me the amazing opportunity to work with a team of extremely talented and supportive people from completely different backgrounds. Each team member has a totally different way of approaching each project, which means we always create amazing things together.”
Lisa joined the Chupi team in 2014 after graduating from the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) with a degree in visual communications. Her role as graphic designer at Chupi has involved helping the team to develop a visual voice for the brand. She is also responsible for creating hand-lettered illustrations and designing all the brand’s printed collateral such as catalogues and packaging, as well as helping to maintain the Chupi website.
The Chupi brand was founded by former TopShop designer Chupi Sweetman and offers delicate, hand-crafted jewellery in gold and silver. Inspired by “wild and natural things”, each piece is designed, manufactured and finished in Ireland.
