Clogau creates micro site option for retailers

Shops can host entire range without holding stock with free platform.

Jewellery brand Clogau Gold has launched an e-tail platform that allows retailers to host dedicated Clogau mini sites on their websites.

The mini sites allow retailers to sell the whole of Clogau Gold’s offer without having to hold stock. When a purchase is made through the mini site, the jewellery will be dispatched directly from Clogau Gold and the retailer will make a commission on every sale.

Clogau Gold is offering the service to retailers free of charge in a bid to end what it calls “low quality websites” that often put brands off allowing retailers to sell their products online.

Clogau Gold managing director Ben Roberts said: “Brands are always trying to stop stockists from selling their product on the web. This way, we’re just making sure they do it well.

“We believe that to support our retailers with a one-step solution in an area that is often confusing and time consuming, is one that will be welcome.”

The micro sites can be used as standalone sites or can be incorporated into retailers existing e-tail platforms.

Roberts said: “We have built our retail partners a ready-to-use, out-of-the-box, customisable solution. The sites which sit on Clogau’s own servers and links from the retailers own site, offers significant benefits to the retailer and consumer. It also ensures consistency of brand message and identity across e-commerce and other retail channels.”

The micro-site function has been in development for more than a year and works in real-time with Clogau Gold’s stock control systems, ensuring that stock levels on the retailers’ dedicated sites are accurate and updated within seconds at all times of the day. Clogau will also link promotions running on its own consumer-facing retail site with retailers’ micro sites.
