Store opening in airport; brand to increase presence on cruise ships.
Clogau Gold is set to open its first international standalone store in Beijing airport as it kicks off a year of international expansion.
The Welsh jewellery brand said it was looking forward to opening its very first international domestic store, located in China, with further plans to increase its distribution in Abu Dhabi and extend its already established retail partnership with Princess Cruises.
The new Clogau boutique will open next month within Beijing Capital International Airport, said to be the world’s largest airport. It will sell an array of Clogau gold designs including 18ct gold, sterling silver and rose gold products.
The brand will also launch at Abu Dhabi International airport in June through a partnership with distributor Pure Gold Jewellers. The store will sell only 18ct gold Clogau product, including its royal-inspired collections Kensington and Royal Crown.
The brand’s ambassador and former official royal harpist Claire Jones will make an appearance at the airport to also promote the brand’s Heartstrings collection, which she also fronts.
Clogau said it hopes to follow up its Abu Dhabi launch with further distribution opportunities via Pure Gold Jewellers in the Middle East and India.
The brand has also bolstered its presence aboard Princess Cruises, adding two listings to its current shipping retail portfolio. Fristly, the Sun Princess which will launch in Japan with the brand’s 18ct and silver range and secondly the Royal Princess, a brand new ship described as one of the biggest cruise ships in the World, which launches in Europe in 2013. The Royal Princess will stock Clogau’s 18ct range and a silver range.
Jones will make a number of on-board performances to promote the Heartstrings range.
