The Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ) is yet to unveil its ‘mystery speaker’ at the two-day UK Jewellery Conference but Willie Hamilton, chief executive at the CMJ was impressed by their speech.
Willie Hamilton, chief executive at the CMJ, said: “When I first witnessed this speaker take to the stage, I wondered what on earth to expect. Yet when I started to listen, I was blown away. This person made me re-evaluate what I think I’m capable of doing and made me lift my limitations. I’ll say no more, other than come and see for yourself.”
The identity of the ‘mystery speaker’ who will take to the stage at the East Midlands Conference Centre and Orchard Hotel on October 3-4, 2016, is a closely guarded secret and, according to the CMJ chief executive, Willie Hamilton, the speaker’s identity will not be revealed until the moment they are due to present on Day one of the conference.
But the CMJ has announced its keynote speakers and a new programme of seminars. It features retail consultant Howard Saunders and customer service specialist Linda Moir.
Howard Saunders will be sharing his experience of working with Marks & Spencer and Westfield to develop retail innovations, while customer service specialist Linda Moir will talk on her successful projects delivering customer service solutions for London’s 2012 Olympic Games and Virgin Atlantic.
Other speakers confirmed to attend, include chief executive and assay master of the Assay Office Birmingham Stella Layton, and BBC Antique Roadshow jewellery expert and author Joanna Hardy. The event will once again be hosted by BBC TV presenter Bill Turnbull.
For the first time, the UK Jewellery Conference will be hosting break-out seminars and workshops on the first day of the event, giving delegates greater choice and value. The seminars, led by experts, will include topics that include Empowering Interpersonal Communications, Cybercrime, Social Media Strategies, Diamond Grading and Standards, Marketing Ideas for Small Businesses and Stock Merchandising.
