CMJ launches specialist jewellery media company

CMJ Media to offer marketing, branding, press and publishing services.

Buying group The Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ) is adding another string to its bow with the launch of a new company designed to provide marketing, branding, press and publishing services for the watch and jewellery industry.

The new company, which will be called CMJ Media, will be headed up by jewellery editor and CMJ executive Sarah Carpin and creative and publishing consultant Colin Harris, who will work alongside Steve Slaney on the project. Both Harris and Carpin have several years’ experience working within the jewellery industry and the media and will meld these two areas of expertise to create a unique service for the UK watch and jewellery industry.

Harris said: “The experience and expertise we have within the jewellery and watch industry gives us a real strength in what we can offer to our clients. We provide a complete package to help jewellery and watch brands succeed in the UK market, from marketing through to brand consultancy and networking opportunities.”

CMJ Media will not be restricted to CMJ members, but will be made available to the entire industry. CMJ members will, however, be entitled to discounted rates.

The company will offer jewellery and watch companies a range of services including contract publishing, producing and managing ad campaigns, event management, networking, website design, social media management and brand consultancy, It also plans to work with watch and jewellery brands outside of the UK that are looking to enter the market.

The launch of CMJ Media is part of a wider strategy at the CMJ to grow the business through subsidiary companies that will sit under the CMJ umbrella.
