The Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ) has signed up as the principal partner of the Professional Jeweller Hot 100 2011, which will take place in September.

The CMJ is back on board for a second year after pledging its support to the event in its first year last year.

CMJ chief executive Willie Hamilton said: “The CMJ and Professional Jeweller’s Hot 100 are perfect partners, as we both drive fresh and vibrant ideas into the UK jewellery industry. We recognise the need to support and bring gravitas to a new initiative and we are delighted to sponsor an initiative that recognises new talent in retail, supply and design, especially one that supports new designers, creatives and contemporary retailers.

"The Hot 100 is a fresh new approach to recognising and rewarding the best of the best in the jewellery industry and as the leading jewellery co-operative in the UK and Ireland, the CMJ is proud to be the principal sponsor of what is now the most talked about magazine event in the UK jewellery calendar.”

Professional Jeweller editor-in-chief Rachael Taylor expressed her delight at the return of the CMJ as principal partner. She said: “The CMJ were very quick to get on board with the Professional Jeweller Hot 100 last year when it was still an unproven concept in this market and their visionary attitude was rewarded by a deep association with what quickly became the most important jewellery industry social event and publishing project of the year. It is fantastic that the CMJ is back on board and the event will be strengthened by partnering with such a respected trade group.”

The Professional Jeweller Hot 100 launched last year and quickly became a talking point in the industry.

The concept was created by the Professional Jeweller editorial team selecting a list of 100 individuals in the industry that they believed were driving the jewellery trade forward in 2010. These golden few were then profiled by the team and photographed by fashion photographers from Harpers Bazaar before for a special commemorative book. The event was celebrated with a glitzy invite-only party at exclusive London members’ club The Kensignton Roof Gardens in September.

This year’s Professional Jeweller Hot 100 party will return on September 6. More details to follow on Professionaljeweller.com.
