The Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ) is set to host its first UK-focused jewellery business conference in October.
The event will feature a number of guest speakers from the worlds of retail and jewellery.
It will be hosted by BBC TV presenter Bill Turnbill. Among the speakers will be Links of London founder and Bremont chairman John Ayton and retail expert Clare Rayner.
CMJ chief executive Willie Hamilton described the event as vital: “We recognised that there is a real need for an event that brings together both retailers and suppliers in a way that helps both links in the jewellery chain work together in a stronger way.”
The conference is open to all 150 CMJ retail members and suppliers but will also be open to affiliated members of the National Association of Goldsmiths, the British Jewellers’ Association and CIBJO.
Hamilton added: “This is a conference that is aimed as much at the manufacturing and wholesale side of our industry as it is at the retail side.”
He added that delegates would be treated to a wide variety of presentations and seminars from their experts covering the latest in industry developments. The event will take place over two days at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole Hotel on October 2 and 3.
