German Swiss-made watch brand joins buying group in the UK.
The Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ) have added German watch brand MeisterSinger to its portfolio.
Chief executive of the CMJ Willie Hamilton said: “I believe MeisterSinger brings a real point of difference to the hum drum world of watches. MeisterSinger claim that the watch seems to slow the passage of time, with the lone hand moving in unhurried increments of five minutes around the simple, symmetrical, unfussy dial and I reckon they are right.”
Ispired by the first single-hand timekeepers – sundials – and the original single-hand mechanical timepieces made in the 17th century, MeisterSinger watches have been in production for a decade and are now sold in over 25 countries. The brand is renowned for its simplicity of design.
MeisterSinger watches, with either hand-wound or self-winding automatic movements, are made in Switzerland, though the brand is German “I would think they are serious watches for people who appreciate simplicity of concept and design within fine mechanical timepieces", added Hamilton.
MeisterSinger is the second watch brand to join the CMJ in recent months, following the arrival of Skagen watches in the new year. The brand is currently lists five UK retailers on its site, including John Gowing jewellers in Oxford and Jura Watches in London.
