Organisation mentoring five jewellery designers at Munich show.
The Crafts Council has announced its support for 11 UK designers, set to show at Talente in Munich later this month.
This is the 11th year that the council has acting as mentor for several jewellery designers. Those attending this year’s show include Farrah Al-Dujaili, Eleanor Bolton, Madeleine Harris, Li-Chu Wu, Xiaorui Zhang and silversmith Kathryn Hinton.
Talente is an annual showcase and competition for new designers and makers. It takes place during the International Trade Fair for the Skilled Trades in Munich, which was established in 1980. The shows is regarded as one of Europe’s most prestigious showcases for emerging talent in the areas of design, technology and craft.
Talente collaborates with institutions from across the world, including academies, universities and arts and crafts organisations, selecting by jury exciting new designers and makers who wish to reach a European audience.
The jewellery on show will include over-sized textile jewellery by Eleanor Bolton and Li-Chu Wu’s intricate paper jewellery.
