Start-up raised £200,000 via crowdfunding to launch diamond business.

London-based bespoke jeweller Rare Pink was named New Jeweller of the Year at the British Jewellers’ Association Awards on December 4, just 12 months after launching its website.

The e-tail venture started as a living room start-up for its co-founder and chief executive officer, Nikolay Pirankov, who raised £200,000 through crowd-funding channels to start the business.

Rare Pink aims to “…change the way clients shop for their perfect engagement ring. Providing top quality craftsmanship, ethically-sourced diamonds along with a superior service…”

Since launching a new signature collection of diamond engagement rings in September, sales of the company’s buildable and customisable designs have grown by 700%. Each piece is signed with a pink diamond set on the inside of each ring.
