Retailer hopes to win more couples shopping at the weekend.

Jeweller David M. Robinson has extended the opening hours of its Manchester store to seven days a week owing to changing demand from its clientèle.

The retailer will now open on Sundays at the store in St. Anns Square following a boom in locals wishing to shop in store over the weekend.

Penny Galloway, store manager at David M. Robinson Manchester, said the opening hours had changed following the introduction of a new Rolex room at the store which has markedly increased shoppers coming to the store.

Galloway said: "Also, we believe that from a jewellery prospective more couples shop together on a Sunday than during the week, so we expect to see lots of happy couples coming to us for engagement rings and wedding rings for their special day."

David M. Robinson runs six stores in the UK. Its London Canary Wharf and Liverpool One stores are also open on Sundays, while its Southport, Altrincham and Chester stores remain closed on Sundays.
