Derbyshire based company celebrates winning triple honours.

The Derbyshire based CW Sellors is celebrating a triple success after this year’s IJL, having achieved honours for gemstone expertise, creative and innovative design and support for rising talent.

This is the third time in four years that C W Sellors has received the Gem-A award for Gem Empathy at International Jewellery London (IJL), 2010. The jewellery manufacturer received the award for the skilful use of gemstones in its handmade jewellery, with particular credit paid to the use of CW Sellors’ signature gemstone, Whitby Jet.

The company also received third prize at the Platinum Guild Awards for its celebration of platinum with Whitby jet and diamond, the centerpiece of its new monochromatic collection.

The final accolade was given to CW Sellor’s sponsored emerging designer FangFang Qiao in recognition of her ‘Ice and Water’ earrings. Qiaou won the Emerging Designers Award at the Lonmin Design Innovation Awards, held at The Hurlingham Club in London. It was the only award to be presented for earrings on the night.

CW Sellors managing director Chris Sellors said: “It is vitally important that as an industry, we work together to nurture new talent particularly in such a difficult economic climate. We are so happy for FangFang and wish her every success for the future in what is sure to be a flourishing career in jewellery design, and look forward to working together in the future in her ambition to introduce British fine jewellery into the newly emerging Chinese market.”
