De Beers opens boutique in Kazakhstan

De Beers is enjoying healthy sales in the Far East and US.

New store opening sees street closed and more than 250 guest attend.

De Beers has announced the opening of a new store in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The store is located on Bogenbai Batyr in Almaty – the premier shopping location for luxury brands in the city.

François Delage, CEO of De Beers diamond jewellery said: "Our opening in Almaty demonstrates the growing demand for De Beers diamond jewellery globally, beyond traditional markets. We are delighted to share our exceptional passion and expertise in diamond selection, craftsmanship and diamond jewellery design with a discerning clientele in this exciting, fast-growing market."

The new store on was officially opened on July 2. The Bogenbai Batyr Street was closed in honour of the opening party – the first time a street has been closed in Almaty for a private party. The glamorous event attracted more than 250 guests across the social, political, business and arts worlds.

De Beers currently has a worldwide presence with stores located in Old Bond Street in London, Fifth Avenue in New York, Printemps and Galeries Lafayette in Paris, Shin Kong Place in Beijing, The Landmark in Hong Kong and Ginza in Tokyo.
