Friendship Mall store follows after May’s Beijing opening.
De Beers Diamond Jewellers has opened a second store in China, in The Friendship Mall in Tianjin, its second standalone in six months.
The store is its second in mainland China, and demonstrates the brand’s continued push into the Asian market, where branded jewellery and luxury goods have are experiencing a boom.
The opening was hosted by De Beers’ chief executive François Delage, the company’s president Andrew Coxon and actress Karen Mok, who attended the opening as a special guest wearing the brand’s Wildflowers collection.
Delange said of the opening: “We are delighted to open our first store in Tianjin following the successful opening in Beijing in May.”
“We are now able to fully share our exceptional passion and expertise in diamond selection, craftsmanship, and design to one of the largest and most discerning markets in the world.”
The second opening into the mainland Chinese market follows De Beers’ growth as a global retailer. At present, De Beers has stores located in New York, Paris, London, Hong Kong, Beijing and Tokyo.
