Cufflinks manufacturer Deakin & Francis is celebrating its 230th anniversary in the trade this year.
As England’s oldest family jeweller, the company produce the finest cufflinks and throughout 230 years in business have never veered from the high standards of craftsmanship and quality that are its tradition.
With an incredible heritage, steeped in history, Deakin & Francis was originally founded in 1786. Seven generations after their ancestor Charles Washington Shirley Deakin developed the product range, the business is today managed by brothers Henry & James Deakin.
A real family affair, the company is a great example of craftsmanship at its best with roles including metalworkers who stamp blanks ready for the workshop, skilled enamellers who specialise in the delicate work of vitreous enamelling and polishers who prepare the cufflinks ready to sell. Offering eclectic and quirky or classic and sophisticated styles, the firm has always been at the forefront of design and has a pair of cufflinks for every taste and personality.
As a British brand, capitalising on their family roots, Deakin & Francis are going from strength to strength. Looking ahead to the next 230 years the company will focus on continuing to design and make unique and eye-catching jewellery whilst taking the brand to the new level.
Henry Deakin comments: “We are immensely proud of the values and techniques installed by our ancestors and pride and care goes into every single piece of jewellery that we produce. 230 years is a massive achievement for any company and we are delighted to be able to celebrate this landmark of an occasion throughout 2016 – with gratitude to everyone who has supported us.”
Deakin continues: “We are very much focused on the future – not only are we constantly thinking of our next show-stopping designs, we are also excited to continue to grow the brand through new routes to market and through new marketing initiatives. We can’t reveal all of our plans just yet, but all I will say is this year is set to be a very exciting one.”
Not ones to let the opportunity for a celebration pass, Deakin & Francis are planning on making sure 2016 is a legendary year. With lots up their sleeves, a taster of their plans will include a striking 230 capsule collection and a new look book highlighting their essential collection.
