Irish designer reaching out to international market at Feb show.
Irish goldsmith Des Doyle is set to make his debut at German jewellery trade how Inhorgenta Munich next month, as he looks to expand his business overseas.
Doyle has already won several stockists in the UK with his organic, nature-inspired 18ct gold jewellery collections. To date he has acquired a small number of international stockists but is looking to increase that number through his appearance at Inhorgenta.
He is set to preview a new collection of fine jewellery at the German trade show, entitled Medusa. The range is a follow up to his last collection, Enduring Nature, which Doyle unveiled at IJL last September.
Doyle has won several key accounts through appearances at IJL, all of whom he said “were looking for a new 18ct brand that offered well made pieces but a fresh re-working of very beautiful shapes”.
He was named a NexGem in the Professional Jeweller Hot 100 2012. He said at the time: “The brand has been discovered as a niche player in the fine jewellery market with incredible attention to detail and a great story. My customer tends to be very concerned with quality and finish and also longevity so the ‘classic pieces with a twist’ combination that I specialise in makes sense to them.”
