Robbers escape raid with total of £20,000 worth of designer goods.
An Essex retailer specialising in designer costume hire has been robbed of jewellery thought to be worth more than £20,000.
Frocks ‘n’ Rocks, based in Frinton on Sea was raided on Wednesday morning by two men wearing balaclavas, according to Essex Police.
They threatened two female staff and escaped with several items including a diamond solitaire ring and a Cartier watch worth more than £6,000 each.
The women were described as shaken, but unhurt.
The robbers, one black, one white, were not thought to be armed. Both were wearing hooded tops and jeans.
The first is described as black, aged in his mid to early 20s, about 5ft 8ins tall wearing jeans and a hooded top. The other was white, 6ft tall, wearing jeans and a hooded top.
Following the robbery officers received reports of three black men attempting to sell a diamond ring to jewellers.
They are currently investigating whether this could be connected and have asked anybody who has been offered jewellery at a considerably reduced price to contact detectives at Clacton CID on 0300 333 4444.
