London retailer EC One has announced the 10 finalists in its annual new talent competition EC One Unsigned, with the group vying for votes to win a place on the Goldsmiths’ Company’s business development course Getting Started.
The 10 designers are now in the running to be in the final four. Three contestants will be nominated by a public vote on the EC One website, and EC One will select a ‘Wild Card’ who will complete the final selection.
The public vote will be open until midnight Wednesday August 31, where anybody can vote for their favourite. The Final Four will be announced on Thursday September 1, and will meet the Unsigned judging panel on Wednesday September 14.
This year’s judges include EC One business owner Jos Skeates, buyer at Fortnum & Mason, Jo Newton, IJL director, Sam Willoughby, acclaimed designer, Tomasz Donocik, and freelance jewellery journalist and Rachael Taylor.
Alongside a place on the Getting Started course, the winner will also get PR and digital support provided by Push PR, mentoring on sales, stockists and manufacturing with EC One owners Jos and Alison Skeates, and a £250 voucher to spend with Cookson Gold.
