Editor’s View: Celebrating the best in the jewellery business

Flick through any edition of Professional Jeweller this year or browse the pages of our website and it quickly becomes apparent that the jewellery industry is blessed with individuals and companies at the forefront of British business.

Innovation, creativity and originality lie at the very heart of this industry, and the ways in which brands and retailers harness these qualities to drive sales growth, profitability and customer satisfaction ultimately shapes their success in the market.

To recognise and celebrate this, I am delighted to announce that we will be launching the first ever Professional Jeweller Awards in 2017.

Taking place on Monday September 4 — the second evening of IJL — the Professional Jeweller Awards will honour the business achievements of the brands and retailers that are lighting up the British jewellery industry.

The awards will be a must-attend event for the crème de la crème of the jewellery trade, especially if you have been at the exhibition all day! What better way to wind down after treading the show floor than enjoying a glamorous evening networking, socialising and drinking!

I’ll be revealing more details in due course, but for now I will whet your appetite by promising that it is going to be fun, fresh, and it will include a delicious three-course meal and unlimited alcohol.

The launch of the Professional Jeweller Awards follows the success of the WatchPro Awards, which took place at the iconic Globe Theatre last month. More than 200 senior executives from the leading watch brands and retailers attended the awards and honoured the achievements of the industry over the past 12 months.
