Designer launches EG Classics on EG Studio jewellery e-tail site.

Jewellery designer and entrepreneur Elizabeth Galton has launched a new collection, EG Classics, under her eponymous EG brand, her first collection since she launched jewellery retail website EG Studio earlier this year.

Designed by Galton, former creative director of Links of London, the collection consists of wrap bracelets made with soft suede, plaited with faceted ball chains. They are available in shades of hot pink, pale pink, purple, black and light grey.

The bracelets are finished with tassels and a magnetic sterling silver clap. The collection is described as “an own-brand collection, characterised by eclectic and distinctive fashion-forward designs”, and Galton says it was a playful way to kick-start her new collection.

Galton said: “The EG Classics range is an initial taster of my intention to launch a cohesive EG Studio own label collection as part of our online offer.

“It was a spontaneous capsule range of bracelets that has a laid back vibe; they are easy treats for the modern woman. The full EG Studio Classics main line will launch in the first quarter of 2012 and [will] co-inside with my forthcoming book.”

EG Studio has added several new brands and designers to its online offer, including ethical brand Chavin, Chambers & Beau and Denise Manning. The site also sells pieces from more than 60 designers including Tina Lilienthal, Jayce Wong, Renaissance Life, Alexis Dove and La Diosa.

Galton has previously worked as a consultant for brands including Swarovski and retailers Liberty and Harvey Nichols and was this year named a Business Big Shot in the Professional Jeweller Hot 100. She is also in the process of writing her first book about jewellery design.
