Retailer sells £2m of stock in a fortnight; will close on July 14.
Bromley retailer EW Payne has made a final bid to drive sales before it closes this weekend by asking members of the public to "make them an offer" for jewellery on sale in store.
As part of its closure the retailer put £3 million worth of stock on sale and has sold £2 million of stock over the last fortnight. With £750,000 worth of gold jewellery, diamond jewellery and watches remaining, EW Payne is now asking shoppers to make them an offer for items, rather than paying the ticket price.
According to New Shopper, EW Payne’s directors have decided to clear the remaining jewellery "by any means possible" before closing on July 14.
EW Payne director Nick Stanhope said: "We have been delighted with the impact the sale has made and although we are sad that the store is closing it has been good to hear so many stories and happy memories from customers we have looked after over the years. "We expect the final three days to be extremely busy."
