500-mile roundtrip for Andrew Hinds to attend each ribbon cutting.
F Hinds added three stores to its portfolio on Sunday with the official openings of new shops in Stockport, Walsall and Bristol.
In Stockport F Hinds opened a 1,300 sq ft store in Merseyway Shopping Centre, which was the first of the three to open its doors on Sunday. The shop is the retail group’s third in the Manchester area and is managed by David du Plessis who has recently joined the business.
The second opening was in Walsall, where Nick Frost, who has relocated from an F Hinds branch in Stafford, has taken on the manager’s role. The 1,000 sq ft unit is on the lower level of the Saddlers Shopping Centre.
The final store opening of the day was in Bristol, where F Hinds opened a 1,300 sq ft retail space in the city’s Galleries Shopping Centre. It has been 50 years since F Hinds has had a store in Bristol, and the store is estimated to be less than 500m from where the previous shop, which closed down in 1963, was located. This store will be managed by Chris Gilligan, who has relocated from within the business.
The day turned out to be a busy one for F Hinds director Andrew Hinds, who undertook a 500-mile round trip to be at all three ribbon-cutting ceremonies, which were also attended by the Lord Mayors of each town.
Hinds said: “We are delighted to be part of the exciting regeneration and modern updating of all three shopping centres. Three stores in one day is certainly a major historical achievement and will be remembered as special in the company’s history for ever.”
