Facets PR has acquired a new shareholder in a deal with award-winning London agency W, which will allow the specialist jewellery and watch communications company to scale up its activities and reach.

W has acquired a stake in specialist jewellery communications agency Facets PR – its third UK purchase over the past year. The deal is part of an ambitious expansion strategy that has seen W acquire House last autumn, and launch northern powerhouse W North in Newcastle through the acquisition of GluePR in March.

The independent global agency has taken an initial minority stake in Facets PR with a view to acquire a majority stake in due course.

As W continues to invest in and cultivate best-in-class industry specialists that will supercharge its existing expertise, Facets PR will complement the agency’s already strong luxury presence, whose existing clients include luxury heritage fashion brand Belstaff, British luxury yacht manufacturer Princess Yachts and membership airline Surf Air among its international portfolio

Working with leading international jewellery brands based in Italy, Canada, Denmark and New Zealand as well as London-based fine jewellers and UK jewellery businesses, Facets PR’s clients include Yoko London, Marco Bicego, Clogau, Sif Jakobs Jewellery, Lyon & Turnbull auction house, Chupi Jewellery, Astra and Savage & Rose.

“Sarah has an incredible business with enormous potential and I am looking forward to working with her to take it to the next level,” shares founder and chief executive officer of W, Warren Johnson. It is another exciting step in W’s ongoing evolution as we continue to seek out acquisitions that enable us to further build our industry specialist expertise and connectivity.”

Facets will keep its name and continue to trade as a standalone jewellery and watch specialist business from its offices in Shoreditch, taking advantage of access to additional business services and input from the senior W team. Meanwhile, the deal will give W a seat on the board.

Facets PR director, Sarah Carpin, comments: “W has a fantastic track record and proven appetite for growth and I am very excited to be working with Warren and team as part of the wider W family to build the Facets PR business for the future.”
