CEO Stephen Lussier says figure is milestone for De Beers brand.
De Beers diamond brand Forevermark has this week reached a milestone, inscribing its millionth diamond with a Forevermark serial number and icon.
Forevermark etches only those diamonds that have met its strictest standard. The millionth stone was inscribed at the Forevermark Diamond Institute in Antwerp.
Forevermark chief executive officer Stephen Lussier said: “This is a significant day in Forevermark’s young history. Inscribing 1,000,000 Forevermark diamonds in the six years since launch is a huge achievement and is testament to the appeal of the brand amongst a growing number of consumers.
“The fact that every inscription number is unique and always identifiable as your very own, adds to the allure of our brand offering.”
The inscriptions are invisible to the naked eye, and are creating using proprietary technology from the De Beers group and can only be seen with a special Forevermark viewer.
The brand, which is wholesaled to jewellery retailers across the world, has enjoyed global growth in recent years, reporting a 40% increase in stockists in 2013. It opened a second Forevermark Diamond Institute facility in India in early 2015 to meet continued demand for inscription and grading services.
