Global contingent of almost 300 buyers invited to international fair.
The fourth Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair opened in Antwerp yesterday, welcoming scores of visitors from Europe, Russia, China and the Middle East.
The fair organisers, the Diamond Bourse and Diamond Club of Antwerp, said the registration desk and footfall in the corridors of the show was strong, “turning the exhibition booths of the 83 participating companies into beehives of activity”.
Raphael Rubin, a senior member of the ADTF Organising Committee, said: "We knew that this year’s fair would be busy since we have invited close to 300 buyers. When you add in those buyers who were invited in previous years, and choose to come back to visit the ADTF, you have a full house.
“This year, we’re also welcoming buyers’ delegations from Greater China, Europe, the Middle East, and other regions.”
Diamond buyers from across Europe commented that the fair offered an enormous selection of loose stones, while Jorge A Lievano, a luxury jeweller from Bogota, Colombia, said he was very impressed with the show and its execution, describing it as very elegant.
