Jewellery company comes sixth in 100 after making first place in 2012.
The Genuine Gemstone Company has made the top 10 of the Sunday Times’ Fast Track 100 for the second year running, having demonstrated 189% sales growth in the past year.
Having won first place in the Fast Track 100 in 2012, the company this year secured sixth position, describing the listing as "a remarkable achievement in a competitive marketplace".
According to the Fast Track 100 league tables, The Genuine Gemstone Company’s sales have increased by 189.26% in the past year, with 2012 -13 sales of approximately £83.7 million, up from 2009-10 sales of £3.5 million.
The company’s chief executive Steve Bennett said: "After winning the award last year I was honoured to learn of our position in this year’s top ten. Brands don’t normally feature twice on the list, especially in consecutive years so to feature in this way is a great achievement. It’s a testament to our fantastic customers, knowledgeable and committed staff and the passion that we all share for genuine gemstones and stylish jewellery design. I hope we can be just as successful in 2014 and try for the Fast Track 100 hat trick."
The Genuine Gemstone Company has had a bumper few months, launching gemstone jewellery site Gemporia and fashion-led silver brand and website Nowseen.com, selling stacking rings and jewellery upwards of £12. It has also launched a mobile app for Gemporia, allowing users to purchase jewellery and place bids on live auctions of jewellery designs.
Other businesses named in this year’s Sunday Times’ Fast Track 100 included accessories brand The Cambridge Satchel Company, hairbrush company Tangle Teezer, clothing brand Mint Velvet and snacks company Graze.
